How Is the Concept of “Storyline” Being Employed in Climate Related Science?

The term “storyline” is increasingly visible in publications and discussions relating to climate science. In this video, EULALIA BAULENAS analyzes ways in which researchers in different disciplines employ this term as well as highlighting examples of best practice. Conducting a semi-systematic literature review, Baulenas identifies three main approaches: the discourse analytical approach, the story and simulation approach and physical climate storylines. Foregrounding the benefits associated with interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, the research provides researchers in different fields with interesting insights into alternative potential approaches to storyline in climate related science.
